Here To Serve.

A PRACTICAL EXTENSION OF OUR
CHURCH COMMUNITY

At C3 Queanbeyan we believe in the power of community and the incredible impact that individuals can have when they come together to serve others.

Every year in October we hold our HERE TO SERVE month, where we intentionally serve others and love on our local community with acts of kindness and generosity. Our Here to Serve month is an opportunity to be a beacon of hope in someone else’s life. Whether it’s offering a helping hand to a neighbour in need, providing a warm meal to a hungry family, or simply being there to lend a compassionate ear, your involvement can transform lives as we step out and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around us.

We encourage you to join us at one of our Serve Days over the month of October and be a part of making a real difference in our local community! Together we can achieve so much more! More info & sign up below!

HOME IN QUEANBEYAN

Cooking Lunch & Meals for the Residents

HOME in Queanbeyan provides a long-term home for 20 people living with an enduring mental illness. Each resident lives in a self-contained unit in a safe, loving and non-institutional setting. HOME provides lunch each day cooked by volunteers. Residents come together to enjoy a meal, good conversation and friendship. If you love to cook then this serving opportunity is for you! This year we will be taking a team into HOME to spend the afternoon in their kitchen, cooking lunch for them on the day and a few large meals (eg. lasagnas) that can be frozen for the residents for when they don’t have kitchen volunteers available. This will not only bless those living at HOME but also give the regular volunteers a break from their consistent and generous hard work!

SUN 26TH OCT | 11:45AM – 3PM | WALK OVER AFTER CHURCH

DONATION COLLECTIONS

SHARE THE DIGNITY

It’s In The Bag Drive

This year throughout October we are collecting donations for It’s in the Bag. Share the Dignity’s It’s In the Bag drive is where they ask people to fill a handbag (teen, adult, or mum & bub bag) with essential items and a simple hand written note. Each donation is then transported to a trusty network of charity partners who will gift them to women and girls waking up in domestic violence shelters or homelessness refuges on Christmas Day.

We’d love for you to either buy a bag and fill it yourself (tags & shopping list available in the C3 foyer or online here) or donate one item or a bunch of items to be packed into bags at the end of the month!

Love on a Local

Random Acts of Kindness

We want to encourage you to be intentional with loving and serving others throughout the month of October (and beyond!). Whether that’s mowing your neighbour’s lawn, paying for the person behind you in the drive through, making a meal for someone in need or simply a word of encouragement to a stranger. We never know the impact of a small act of kindness and generosity. We are praying that the people around us would experience the love of Christ through our words and actions as we intentionally step out this October.
