The month of October is our HERE TO SERVE month, where we intentionally serve others and love on our local community with acts of kindness and generosity. We’ll be partnering with local community organisations to lend a hand and help those in need.
We would love for you to be part of what we’re doing in the community – together we can achieve so much more! There are multiple opportunities to serve from home and together over the month of October. Check out what we have happening below!

Louisa Domestic Violence Service
Louisa Domestic Violence Service has operated in the Queanbeyan/Palerang Region for over 40 years. They aim to increase community awareness about the devastating effects of domestic and family violence on families and to provide clients with the support they need to live a life free from violence and abuse.
We will be hosting a Pre-Loved Fashion Sale in our building on Saturday 22nd October from 10am-2pm. Entry tickets are $20 per person and can be pre-purchased online or at the door – all proceeds from tickets will go towards Louisa Domestic Violence Service. Once you’re in, you’ll receive a bag to fill up with as many goodies as you can find. The pre-loved sale will include mens, womens + kids items!
There will be multiple serving opportunities for this event, both in the lead up (sorting clothes & setting up) and on the day (2 shifts available 9-12pm & 12-3pm). We need as many volunteers as possible to make this event run smoothly and successfully. Sign up below! As well as serving on the day you can also donate clothes, shoes & accessories for the sale up until the 9th October.

BACKPACKS 4 KIDS
Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on way for you to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. We will be packing OCC Shoeboxes with gifts for children living in poverty from around the world. Boxes and some gift items will be supplied but we encourage you to bring along some gifts to help fill the boxes (Click here for gift ideas!) or drop off your box filler donations on our donation collection day (see below).

We are so blessed to now be meeting in our miracle building! What a privilege it is for us to serve God by building His house here in Queanbeyan. We want to finish off some off jobs and clean & prepare the building for our Pre-Loved Sale in October where many of our community will come and see our home for the first time. We will be running a working bee on site from 9am-12pm on Saturday 1st October.

Your generosity can help bring joy and comfort to people this Christmas. We are excited to be partnering with Vinnies Queanbeyan to supply pantry items and toys for their Christmas Appeal.
Every year Vinnies helps families across our region in need by providing them with essentials and yummy Christmas goodies for them to enjoy the Christmas season with their families. The last few years have proved to be challenging for many families and the demand for Vinnies Christmas hampers is higher than ever.
You can click here to see our virtual food & toy drive where you can donate a hamper, or pick some pantry or toy items to contribute online & our volunteers will do the shopping for you!
HOME in Queanbeyan
HOME provides long-term supported accommodation for twenty men and women with enduring mental illness. It features twenty self-contained residential apartments in a safe, loving, non-institutional setting.
If you love to cook or have the time we would love for you to commit to make a meal in the next few weeks. We will be collecting meals throughout the month that can be frozen and given to the residents at HOME in Queanbeyan. Family sized meals that feed a few mouths would be great and need to be frozen. Meals can be dropped to the Church and stored in the freezer or a collection day can be organised with you once you sign up. This opportunity to serve can be done anytime throughout October and is a great way to bless some of our local residents with a home cooked meal and relieve some pressure from the regular volunteers at HOME!
