Here To Serve.

A PRACTICAL EXTENSION OF OUR
CHURCH COMMUNITY

The month of October is our HERE TO SERVE month, where we intentionally serve others and love on our local community with acts of kindness and generosity. We’ll be partnering with local community organisations to lend a hand and help those in need.

We would love for you to be part of what we’re doing in the community – together we can achieve so much more! There are multiple opportunities to serve from home and together over the month of October. Check out what we have happening below!

” We love because he first loved us.”

Louisa Domestic Violence Service

Pre-Loved Clothing Sale

Louisa Domestic Violence Service has operated in the Queanbeyan/Palerang Region for over 40 years. They aim to increase community awareness about the devastating effects of domestic and family violence on families and to provide clients with the support they need to live a life free from violence and abuse.

We will be hosting a Pre-Loved Fashion Sale in our building on Saturday 22nd October from 10am-2pm. Entry tickets are $20 per person and can be pre-purchased online or at the door – all proceeds from tickets will go towards Louisa Domestic Violence Service. Once you’re in, you’ll receive a bag to fill up with as many goodies as you can find. The pre-loved sale will include mens, womens + kids items!

There will be multiple serving opportunities for this event, both in the lead up (sorting clothes & setting up) and on the day (2 shifts available 9-12pm & 12-3pm). We need as many volunteers as possible to make this event run smoothly and successfully. Sign up below! As well as serving on the day you can also donate clothes, shoes & accessories for the sale up until the 9th October.

HOME in Queanbeyan

Meals for Home

HOME provides long-term supported accommodation for twenty men and women with enduring mental illness.  It features twenty self-contained residential apartments in a safe, loving, non-institutional setting.

If you love to cook or have the time we would love for you to commit to make a meal in the next few weeks. We will be collecting meals throughout the month that can be frozen and given to the residents at HOME in Queanbeyan. Family sized meals that feed a few mouths would be great and need to be frozen. Meals can be dropped to the Church and stored in the freezer or a collection day can be organised with you once you sign up. This opportunity to serve can be done anytime throughout October and is a great way to bless some of our local residents with a home cooked meal and relieve some pressure from the regular volunteers at HOME!
